The nose is operated on for both cosmetic and for reconstructive purposes. These often work in opposite directions however. The nose is reconstructed after parts are removed as from a cancer operation. In other cases there is breathing obstruction from previous trauma, a deviated septum or both.

WOUND

Wound Care Brochure
The Center for Wound Care is designed to bring together a multi-specialty approach to the care of patients with poor circulation and/or difficult wound management. The Center has on site facilities for patient evaluation, wound care and outpatient surgery. HealthPark has a fully accredited, state-of-the-art vascular laboratory offering accurate and painless ultrasound diagnosis of circulation problems.

General Wound Care
Always follow your doctors instructions fully. There are some basic principals we follow almost uniformly.
  1. Do not use Peroxide.
  2. Do not use Rubbing Alcohol.
  3. Do not use Iodine or Betadine.
  4. Do not use Neosporin Ointment (but the CREAM is OK).
  5. Do not use other ointments.
  6. Creams may be useful however.
